Shefali Malkan is the founder of Magpie Writing Haven. She holds a B-Tech in Computer Science (U.S.A). Having a deep passion for both English Language and teaching, she started conducting Creative Writing classes, 10 years ago and established the writing center in 2022.

She firmly believes that creativity flourishes when writers feel supported and encouraged. So as a teacher she motivates a nurturing and inclusive environment in the class.

Her approach will always be a combination of interactive discussions and a balance of structure and freedom , empowering students to experiment with different writing styles while maintaining a strong foundation in their craft.

Over the years, she has specialized in conducting story writing workshops for young writers and have given opportunity to publish them on the website.

Miss Zainab, our affectionate primary teacher, brings 4 years of wide experience to the center. Majoring in psychology, she fosters a sense of empathy and understanding in children. She encourages her students to embrace their creative ideas, reminding them that writing is a journey of self-discovery and growth.

Her teaching approach revolves around creating a fun and supportive atmosphere in the classroom, where students feel confident to explore their creativity. She uses interactive games, storytelling sessions, and hands-on activities to engage her young learners and spark their interest in writing.

Recognizing that every child learns differently, she provides individualized support to students who may require extra attention in their writing journey. Children love her for her boundless enthusiasm and dedication, as she leaves a lasting impact on her students.
